Women's Embroidery Project

The Women's Embroidery Group is a self-sustaining program that involves local refugee women embroidering traditional designs to be sold in places like the US and UK. The ‘threads’ are donated and the women create the embroidery to generate income so the can achieve some financial independence. This is a successful project already under way in a Syrian refugee camp in Northern Iraq. A good piece can fetch $50 which will all go to the embroiderer - enough to feed a family for a month.
